Extract audio without uploading your video
Video Audio Extractor separates the sound from a video file directly in your browser. Choose a video from your device, select an output format, and the browser decodes only the audio track before creating a downloadable file. Your video is not uploaded to a Toolcroft server, and the work runs locally on your device. Processing speed depends on the video length, audio codec, and available CPU power, so leave the tab open until the download is ready.
Choose the format that fits your use
WAV is uncompressed, making it useful when you need an editing-friendly source file or want to avoid another quality-loss step, but WAV files are usually large. Opus is a compact modern format that works well for sharing and archiving speech or music. AAC is often the most useful choice for broad device and media-player compatibility, although its availability depends on whether the browser can encode it. A practical example is pulling a lecture's audio from a screen recording so you can listen to it while commuting without keeping the much larger video.
About Trim silence
The optional Trim silence control removes sufficiently long near-silent sections by measuring audio volume. It is not speech-aware: quiet background hum can remain, and very soft speech may be treated as silence, especially with the aggressive setting. Use the standard setting first and listen to the downloaded file before deleting the original video. This tool does not remove background noise or distinguish speech from music; it only trims portions whose volume falls below the selected threshold.
